Words are hard to come by when expressing my personal gratitude for the outstanding service you are providing to our students and families through the COVID -19 Pandemic. I find myself in awe. Your outstanding performance demands a written response.
You are true heroes! By word, action, and deed you are saving the 2019-2020 school year for our students. You are delivering on target core academics with differentiation and accommodation. You also lead our students through chapel services, Bible lessons and electives.
Change has been embraced. You’ve adapted to the circumstances by hosting Bring Your Art and Pets to Zoom Class Day (and maybe even your sibling too!). You have led cookies and milk story time, complete with sound effects! No one will forget the physical education challenges and nutrition classes along with family-friendly recipes online!
Every precious second of this is going on while you are troubleshooting technology glitches, answering literally hundreds of emails, phone calls and texts from parents and students who so desperately need your support. You zoom and zoom some more!
You are calling and inspiring students, as well as listening to them read and recite memory verses over the phone. Did anyone mention anything about wake-up calls? Yes…you’re even doing those.
You are checking and returning work, posting grades and of all things, even keeping attendance!
Who does this? Sonshine teachers, that’s who!
Day after day I receive affirmation from Sonshine families on the GREAT job our school is doing. I am careful to say that you are the reason for our success. It is no secret that you stand out as leaders in our county in online academic service and support to families through the COVID -19 pandemic.
Little did we know when we began our journey in August that our carefully planned 2019-2020 school year would be turned completely upside down. But it did.
Once again, and through tears, I say thank you for saving the school year. You have led the charge and helped our students successfully land on their feet.
Through these unprecedented challenges you have persevered. May the Lord bless you as only He can.
