The mission statement of Sonshine Christian Academy is to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of children through providing Biblical training, age appropriate readiness skills, and physical development.

As a staff, we are committed to fostering the academic, social, and spiritual growth of your child. We believe that the preschool years offer a wonderful opportunity for children to learn of God's love for them and to become grounded in the truth of His Word, the Bible. Being an Informed Parent
Communication with students and parents is encouraged at Sonshine Christian Academy Preschool. Our policy is to keep parents informed via notes to parents, phone calls directed through the school office, email, progress reports, and student/parent conferences with teachers. Parents should take the time to read all report information sent home concerning their child. Questions concerning the interpretation of this information can be handled through the administration. We believe that an informed parent is our best ally in achieving results with our student's. With your help and cooperation, we believe your child will be able to reach his/her full potential in Christ.

Curriculum

Sonshine Christian Academy Preschool has dedicated itself to offer the highest level of academic training to its students. SCA Preschool utilizes the A Beka book curriculum as a primary source as well as the Essentials curriculum. Both are Bible based curriculums with an emphasis on phonics and number recognition and child-directed educational centers. Each room is setup with learning centers such as dramatic play, art, manipulative, literacy, music, science, blocks, math, and writing. In those areas children have experiences that relate to their world and expand their knowledge through hands on activities. Each morning the class has a special Bible time. During this time the children sing songs, learn to pray, memorize Bible verses, and hear wonderful lessons from the Bible.

Pledges

Student's will begin memorization and recite the following pledges daily:

American Flag

I pledge allegiance to the flag

Of the United States of America

And to the republic for which it stands,

One nation under God, indivisible,

With liberty and justice for all.

Christian Flag

I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag

And to the Savior for whose kingdom it stands;

One Savior, crucified, risen, and coming again

With life and liberty to all who believe.

The Bible

I pledge allegiance to the Bible,

God's Holy Word.

I will make it a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path;

I will hide its word in my heart that I might not sin against God.
