Basketball Review vs. Eagle Academy November 14, 2008 marked the opening season for the Sonshine Christian Academy Eagles Basketball team. The Eagle boys and girls teams had their first run of the court at an Invitational Opener for the FCCJ Basketball Opening Tournament. The Eagles took on Eagle Academy from Jacksonville with girls bringing home a victory. Stephanie Musseau and Kristen DeLee both scored 7 points in the game while, Michelle Irish and Ansley Howard teamed up with 2 points each. Rachel Pruitte played point guard bringing in 3 points for the game. Last year the SCA girl’s team had an undefeated season, awarding them District Champions. The girl’s team is coached by Kristen Love (Head Coach) and Vicki Dove (Assistant Coach). The boy’s team coached by Sean McClintock (Head Coach) and Danny Connors (Assistant Coach) played against Eagle Academy taking a defeat. Frank Kearns led the team with scoring 7 points while Austin Millen and Justin Horne both scored 2 points each.The basketball team needs volunteers to help with Home Game Gym Set-up and Clean-up.
